Dr. Taqi Ahmed Khan

Dr. Taqi Ahmed Khan is an accomplished academician and researcher with over 15 years of experience in teaching, research, quality assurance, and academic administration. Since 2013, he has served as Assistant Professor ofApplied Biotechnology at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences–Sur, Oman. He holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Aligarh Muslim University and a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from Bundelkhand University. His teachingexpertise includes Biochemistry, Biophysics, Organic Chemistry, Nature Conservation, and Environmental Laws. His research focuses on industrial biotechnology, microbial processes, wastewater treatment, microalgae, biodiesel, nanomaterials, and biomedical applications. In 2025, he co-authored research on AI-assisted optimisation of biomass and exopolysaccharide production by Haloferax mediterranei. He has contributed to several funded projects supported by Oman’s Research and Innovation Authority, Oman LNG, and UTAS. He has published numerous Scopus-indexed papers, four books, and several international book chapters, with a reported Scopus h-index of 9. His institutional responsibilities include quality assurance, laboratory and store coordination, examination review, grant evaluation, and programme development.
