Investiture Ceremony

Indian School Sur convened its solemn and awe-inspiring Investiture Ceremony, formally inducting the newly elected Student Council and House Office Bearers for the academic year 2025-26. The occasion was graced by the distinguished presence of the Chief Guest Mr. Said Nasser Al Abdali, Director, Environment Department, South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, Sur and was further made even more prestigious by the attendance of honoured parents, accenting the collective commitment to nurturing leadership within the student body.
The ceremony commenced with a formal welcome address by Miss Sidra Miraj and presentation of bouquet, extending a gracious reception to the distinguished guest and esteemed parents, setting a tone of dignified celebration. This was followed by a reverent prayer song, invoking divine guidance upon the newly entrusted leaders as they undertook their responsibilities.
A symbolic transition of authority ensued as the esteemed principal of the school, Dr S Srinivasan, in the presence of the distinguished guest and the appreciative parents, formally handed over the school flag to the newly appointed Head Boy, Master Eshant Kumar and Head Girl, Miss Janaki Aneesh. This significant gesture represented the conferral of trust and the expectation of responsible leadership in upholding the school’s esteemed legacy.
Reinforcing the commitment to service, the sashes and badges were formally conferred upon the dedicated School Council Members, by the chief guest of the day, Mr. Said Nasser Al Abdali, Director, Environment Department, South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, Sur signifying their assumption of responsibilities within the student body, a significant act witnessed with approbation by the audience. The chief guest in his address said that leadership means directing the team toward achieving goals while maintaining the team’s well-being. He also wished the students the best of luck.
The solemn oath taking ceremony of the prefectorial student council, administered by the principal, served as a powerful affirmation of commitment, as the newly inducted leaders pledged to uphold the values of the institution, discharge their duties with integrity, and serve their fellow students with diligence. A special recorded music featuring the song ‘I Have a Dream’ added a touch of inspiration to the occasion.
The newly inducted leaders then shared their thoughts, with insightful speeches by Head Boy Master Eshant Kumar and Head Girl Miss Janaki Aneesh, who expressed gratitude and promised to lead with integrity. One of the highlights was the inauguration and logo release of a novel initiative, the school radio, ISS CONNECT, promising to serve as a vital platform for student expression, fostering enhanced communication and creativity within the school.
Further recognizing the commitment to extracurricular enrichment, the Secretaries and Joint Secretaries of the various school clubs were formally presented with their respective badges, acknowledging their role in leading co-curricular activities and enhancing the holistic educational experience.
The formal proceedings were brought to a close with a sincere Vote of Thanks by Miss Ansa Joseph expressing profound gratitude, appreciating the efforts of all involved. The event concluded with the spirited singing of the school anthem and a group photo session, capturing memories of a memorable day.
The ceremony was a resounding success, empowering a new cohort of student leaders and reaffirming the leadership, responsibility, and school spirit, leaving them motivated for the year ahead.
