77th Republic Day Celebration
Indian School Sur celebrated the 77th Republic Day on January 26, 2026, with a ceremonial gathering held at the school’s new Multi Purpose Hall. This modern venue provided a dignified setting for the event, which brought together students, staff, and management to honour the nation’s sovereignty and democratic heritage.
The event began with the school prayer, invoking a sense of duty and purpose. Immediately after, the gathering stood for the Republic Day Pledge, formally reaffirming their allegiance to the Constitution and their responsibilities as citizens. Mr. Shabeeb Mohammed, Convenor of the School Management Committee and Chair of the HSE & Transport Sub-Committee, presided over the event as the ChiefGuest.
Miss. Omisha of class VII A opened the proceedings with a respectful welcome address. The cultural program that followed utilized the new stage effectively, moving briskly and avoiding usual clichés in favor of genuine student expression. Miss .Zainab of class VII A took to the podium with a Hindi speech urging the audience to build a “Proud India,” while Fida Fathima followed with an English address centered on the strength found in “Unity in Diversity.”
The atmosphere shifted from spoken word to melody when the school choir performed a rendition of “We Shall Overcome,” filling the hall with optimism. The venue’s facilities were put to good use during a video presentation by Class VII students, which traced the history of the Constitution and paid tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, offering a clear visual history lesson to the audience on the relevance of the day.
The morning also saw the lighter side of cultural pride. Miss. Safoorah and Miss. Injila recited the poem “Hamare Desh Ki Gatha,” followed by a high-energy group dance led by class VII girls that brought the vibrancy of Indian traditions to the fore.
Beyond the performances, the school took a moment to celebrate academic and creative excellence. Mr. Shabeeb felicitated Shivansh Tiwari and Kairav Chaudhary, winners of the “Jashn-e-Azadi” Quiz. The assembly also applauded the school’s recent creative victory—The Overall Trophy at ISFF 2025—with a special screening of the winning short movies created by students and facilitators.
As the event drew to a close, Rydham delivered the Vote of Thanks. The celebration formally concluded with the rendering of the School Anthem followed by the National Anthem, bringing the morning to a dignified end before the distribution of sweets
