Earth Day Celebration

The Department of Science successfully organized and conducted the Earth Day celebration on April 22, 2026, with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and staff. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental protection and encourage sustainable practices among students.

The celebration commenced with a Special Assembly, in which students of Classes V and X played a key role by presenting a variety of meaningful and engaging programs based on the theme “Our Power, Our Planet.”

The assembly began with an Introduction to Earth Day, highlighting its significance and the urgent need to protect our environment. This was followed by an Opening Prayer, setting a reflective tone for the program. Students then presented “Mission Green School”, a combination of a mini talk and role play that effectively conveyed the importance of eco-friendly habits in daily life.

The assembly further included an Earth Day Pledge, where students reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the planet, followed by a thoughtful Earth Day Poem emphasizing environmental responsibility. A notable highlight was the Medicinal Plant Donation and Presentation, an innovative initiative by ten students from Classes III and IV. They presented ten different medicinal plants along with their uses and benefits, promoting awareness about the value of traditional and natural remedies.

The program also included a Teacher’s Message, inspiring students to take conscious steps towards environmental conservation. Important Campaign Activities were announced, and the session concluded with a Conclusion Note, summarizing the key messages of the day.

As part of the Earth Day campaign, Class X students actively engaged in outreach by visiting Classes I to XII and conducting various classroom-based activities such as:

• Classroom Awareness Talks
• Planet Protectors Puzzle (Crossword Puzzle)
• “Save Our Planet” Earth Day Trivia Quiz
• Eco-Friendly Bookmark Making with Environmental Messages

These activities were designed to make learning interactive and to instill environmental awareness across all grade levels.

In addition, a workshop was organized for students of Classes VIII, IX, and XI from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The session was conducted by Dr. P. V. Khan on the topic “Nature’s Pharmacy in a Test Tube – Exploration and Conservation of Medicinal Plants.” The workshop provided valuable insights into applied biotechnology and the importance of conserving medicinal plants. The session was highly engaging, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on activities that stimulated students’ curiosity and encouraged active participation.

Overall, the Earth Day celebration was conducted in a highly effective and meaningful manner. It not only enhanced students’ understanding of environmental issues but also motivated them to become responsible global citizens committed to protecting the planet.
