 Indian School Sur Conducts Investiture Ceremony with Grandeur and Solemnity

The school witnessed a solemn and remarkable Investiture Ceremony to formally induct the newly elected School Council for the academic session 2026-27. The event was marked by grace, discipline and a deep sense of responsibility as young leaders stepped forward to assume their duties.

The event was attended by the Chief Guest, Mr Khalid bin Ali bin Mohammed Al-Ghazali, Director of the Department of Career Guidance and Student Counselling, Directorate General of Education, South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, Mr Shabeeb Mohammed, Convenor of the School Management Committee, Vice Principal, Mr Biju Mathew, teachers and parents adding to the prestige of the event. The Chief Guest expressed his happiness and great appreciation for the school in his address.

The programme commenced with a welcome address, eloquently setting the tone for the august occasion. A significant moment of the ceremony was the formal handing over of the school flag by the Principal, Dr S Srinivasan to the Head Boy, Master Sarvesh Krishna and the Head Girl, Miss Fathima Marwa, symbolising the entrustment of leadership and responsibility.

In a moment marked by pride and dignity, the house flags were presented to the Boy Captains, while the Girl Captains received their respective placards. The ceremony gained further significance with the formal investiture of the School Council members, as sashes were conferred and badges pinned on them. The captains of the four houses were also invested with sashes and badges in recognition of their roles amidst enthusiastic applause.

A key highlight of the ceremony was the solemn oath administration by the principal, during which the newly appointed office-bearers pledged to discharge their duties with sincerity, discipline and dedication. The event was further enlivened by a melodious musical rendition of ‘I Have a Dream’, which added an inspiring note to the ceremony.

The Head Boy, Master Sarvesh Krishna delivered the induction speech, expressing gratitude for the trust reposed in him and promising to lead by example. The Head Girl, Miss Fathima Marwa, in her acceptance speech, reaffirmed her commitment to uphold the honour and values of the school.

In addition, the school conducted a special assembly and observed Jal Pakhwada as part of the ongoing “Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain” campaign, launched on 22nd March 2021 by CBSE, which aims to promote rainwater harvesting and water conservation. Various awareness activities related to water conservation were held, and students were awarded certificates for their enthusiastic participation and efforts in the painting and the poster making competitions.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, followed by the singing of both the School Anthem and the National Anthem. The event left everyone inspired and reinforced the school’s belief in nurturing leadership, responsibility and excellence among students.
