Teachers’ Day Celebration

On the 5th of September, 2024, Indian School Sur (ISS) celebrated Teachers’ Day, marking the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the former president of India. This day holds a special significance as it honors the dedication, commitment, and hard work of teachers who shape the lives of students. The event was an opportunity for students to express their gratitude to their teachers, who have guided them from their early days in kindergarten to the individuals they are today. As with every year, this Teachers’ Day was a memorable one for the students of ISS. The celebrations began with senior students taking on the role of teachers for an hour, conducting classes for their juniors, adding a personal touch to the tribute. The entire event was organized and managed by the students, providing a visual treat for everyone in attendance. The formal program commenced with a prayer by the school choir, setting a serene and respectful tone. Following this, Miss Sara Ibrahim of Class XI delivered a heartfelt speech, sharing her experience of growing up in a family of teachers. Her words resonated with the audience, emphasizing the influence teachers have on their students’ lives. A fusion dance performance by students of Class IX and X garnered applause from the audience, displaying a beautiful blend of tradition and modernity. This was followed by an instrumental medley by Master Srihari of Class XII and Master Shreyas Srinivasan of Class XI, a musical tribute that captured the essence of the day. Master Safwan of Class XII then delivered a captivating solo performance, leaving the audience in awe. Another highlight of the day was a cinematic dance performed by students of Class IX and XI, which electrified the stage with its energy and enthusiasm. The skit presented by Class X students humorously portrayed classroom scenarios, while also highlighting the importance of the teaching profession. The lively dance steps of Class XI students, filled with youthful exuberance, were a visual delight. The program concluded with a speech by Principal Dr. S. Srinivasan, who commended the senior students for organizing such a remarkable event in a short period of time. He appreciated their hard work and creativity in making the day special for their teachers. The event was hosted by Miss Sidra Miraj, Miss Sara Ibrahim, Miss Liza, and Miss Parinita, all from Class XI, whose efforts ensured the program flowed seamlessly. The celebration reflected the deep love, respect, and gratitude the students of ISS have for their teachers, making this Teachers’ Day truly unforgettable.

 

Teacher’s Day Celebration for Staff

Indian School Sur (ISS) celebrated Teacher’s Day in the presence of esteemed members of the School Management Committee. The distinguished attendees included Mr. Jami Srinivas Rao, President, Dr. Ramkumar Lakshmi Narayanan, Convenor, Mrs. Nishreen Basheer, Treasurer, Mr. Pradeep Kumar A V, Member, Adv. Saeed T P, Member, Mr. Shabeeb Mohammed, Member, and Mr. Pramod Velayudhan Nair, Member. The event began at 2 PM in the school’s multi-purpose hall, where Principal Dr. S. Srinivasan warmly addressed the gathering. In his speech, the principal expressed deep appreciation for the teachers’ relentless efforts and their pivotal role in driving the school towards a brighter future. He also announced that, as a token of appreciation from the management, a sum of 50 riyals had been transferred to the bank accounts of all staff members. This thoughtful gesture symbolized the management’s gratitude for the teachers’ dedication. Following Dr. Srinivasan’s address, Dr. Ramkumar Lakshmi Narayanan, Convenor of the School Management Committee, extended his heartfelt wishes to the teachers, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence in their professional journeys.

 

As part of the celebration, the School Management Committee members presented a cake to the staff, sharing in the joy and significance of the day. The cultural program that followed added vibrancy to the event. Mr. Sreekumar and Mrs. Subeena captivated the audience with a soulful medley, which was followed by delightful group performances from both the lady and gents’ teachers. After the formal addresses, the celebration moved into a more relaxed and fun-filled atmosphere with a grand lunch, followed by special games for the teachers. The games were expertly coordinated by Mr. Jagath Krishnan, Coordinator of Activities, Mrs. Priya, Head of the English Department, and Mrs. Sumi, Coordinator of the Primary Section. The activities included two lively group games and a trivia quiz competition, all of which fostered teamwork and camaraderie among the staff. The winners of the games were honored with gifts, presented by Principal Dr. S. Srinivasan, marking a joyous end to the day’s events. The Teacher’s Day celebration at ISS was not only a day of appreciation and gratitude but also a reminder of the strong bond between the school’s management and its dedicated teaching staff, all working together towards the common goal of excellence in education.
