Investiture Ceremony is not just about providing titles, but about conferring responsibilities to the students, to take charge of the school and take it to the height they desire with their leadership and decision making skills, communication and teamwork.
The Investiture Ceremony was a solemn occasion where all the young students donned the mantle of leadership and endorsed the responsibilities entrusted upon them by the school. Indian School Sur acknowledged the budding young leaders and reposed the trust in them. The programme began by invoking the blessings of almighty in the form of a prayer by the school choir team. A team of student toastmasters – Miss. Salma and Miss. Shivangi from class XII, Miss. Alfiya from class X and Miss. Sara from class IX hosted the ceremony. The ceremony was made propitious by the presence of Mr. Mohanan, Principal, Indian School Jalan. Our beloved principal Dr. S. Srinivasan handed over the school flag to Master Azain Khalid, Head Boy and placard to Miss. Safa Amin, Head Girl. This was followed by the housemasters handing over the house flags to the boy captains and housemistresses handing over the placards to girl captains of all the four houses. The sashes and the badges for the school council and the respective houses was conferred by Mr.Jami Srinivasa Rao, Convener, SMC. Oath taking of the prefectural council was presided over and led by the principal Dr. S Srinivasan. The oath taking was ensued by a beautiful rendition of the song “I have a dream – Abba” by the school choir team. This was followed by an induction speech by Mast. Azain Khalid, Head Boy and thereafter by an acceptance speech by Miss. Safa Amin, Head Girl. Both the prefectural heads pledged their solemn responsibility of leading the school by setting themselves as an example to bring in the best out of others. This was followed by felicitation to Miss. Kareena Karnani who won the prize for the best rebuttal speech in the Ambassador’s Polemic Challenge 22-23. The presidential address was delivered by chief guest for the occasion Mr. Jami Srinivasa Rao, Convener, School Management Committee. Mr. Rao expressed his happiness in attending the event and congratulated the prefectural council for being role models for other fellow students. Mr. Rao said that all the council members should have tenacity and fortitude to carry out the responsibilities entrusted upon them. Mr. Rao concluded his speech by saying that all things in life should be pursued with ardent relentless passion and commitment. Miss. Rida Javed of class X. presented the vote of thanks for the programme. This was followed by a photo session of the prefectural council, house in charges and other office bearers with the School Management Committee.
