Valedictory Ceremony

Indian School Sur vibrantly conducted the valedictory ceremony for the outgoing batch of class XII science students and the first commerce stream batch of Indian School Sur on 12th February, 2023. Mr. Mohammed Ameen, President School Management Committee and General Manager of Sea Pride LLC, was the chief guest of the occasion. Mrs. Sunaina Ameen, a commerce teacher at Indian School Sur, proposed the welcome address. On the occasion, Chief Guest Mr. Mohammed Ameen urged the students to abstain from mediocrity and focus on doing extraordinary things. He stated that ordinary people look for security, but exceptional people look for opportunities and appealed to all the students to maximize the opportunities to demonstrate their success. The Chief Guest said that success is the cumulative result of small steps and that failures should not carry one away. Mr. Ameen also reflected on his own memories of school life, and the role played by schools in shaping future citizens. The principal, Dr S Srinivasan, addressed the gathering with a motivational and intriguing speech about how determination can change an individual’s life through channelized efforts. He explained to the valedictorians how a positive attitude could help in career development and attaining goals in life. The programme featured a symbolic lighting the candle ceremony in which the principal Dr. S Srinivasan kindled the flame of hope and knowledge to the fifty graduating students, which was followed by a group photo session. The programme was graced by the presence of Mr. Jami Srinivas Rao, Convener, School Management Committee, Mr. Pradeep, Academic Chair, School Management Committee and Adv. T. P Saeed, Treasurer, School Management Committee. The School Management Committee members congratulated the students on completing their schooling and wished the children a bright future as they marched towards greater academic pursuits. A group of teachers presented a farewell song to the students, wishing them prosperity and success in their future endeavours. Students, teachers and parents expressed their memories and feelings as they looked back on the years they have spent with the school. The parents thanked the teachers and the institution for nurturing the children with unconditional care and devotion. Dr. Sujatha, PGT Science and Mrs. Aswathy, PGT Physical Education, proposed valediction speeches in which they bid the graduating students a happy farewell and a prosperous academic life ahead. The programme culminated with presenting mementoes and citation scrolls to prospective alums. The valedictory ceremony ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Mohammed Sameer, PGT- Computer Science, Indian School Sur.
